From all of us on the flight deck, we hope your end to summer wrapped up well and you are fueled up for another crazy holiday season. Before we take off, we wanted to get you up to speed on how our summer went and the flight path to end the year:

Moses the Black completes Principal Photography in Rantoul September 2025. Directed by Yelena Popovic, the film is said to follow the story of “a gangster in modern day Chicago, inspired by the repentance story of the fifth-century saint of the same name.” Checkout the dealine announcement

TOURS AND LOCAL IMPACT

Senator Paul Faraci and a group of distinguished guests toured the Flyover Stages on September 15th and were able to make a visit to the set of Moses the Black.

State Rep Sharon Chung and Bloomington Mayor Dan Brady tour Flyover early July and visit the set of ‘Chili Finger’. Here is her full review!

Illinois Green Business Association toured the studio 10/01 to do a full overview and update of renewable ideas that will help make the film industry less wasteful.

FLYOVER ANNOUNCES ‘FLIGHT SCHOOL’ SERIES

The need for artist and community education is essential for Flyover to grow its base of workforce, so starting late fall we will be doing monthly informational series that come with certification and notes on how to get into the industry.

NOW AVAILABLE - Camera Utility 101

Coming this January, learn from accomplished cinematographer Robert Patrick Stern in his six-week camera class that teaches the foundations of how to be the core of the camera department. This class meets weekly in the evenings, getting on your feet and working, to give students the tools to go from the classroom to a professional setting.

This will be the first of many lab-based class from Flight School - here's what's coming next.

Department Event' - Think of it as speed dating for different film departments. You can come check out and meet the local people who work in a range of departments to see if there is one you might fit in. ‘What is a Camera Utility and Why do you need a second AC?’ Class. Early in the New Year, learn from local ICG600 workers how to work in the camera department from the bottom up and start working locally as early as next summer. Stay Tuned!

Locals to CU will know Jill Greenlee from 90s Daughter and other popular cover bands, but she's stepped out with her debut music video GOLDEN MEADOW, shot right here at Flyover Film Studios.

FLYOVER FUN FACT

Chanute Field was named after Octave Chanute (1832–1910). He was a smart engineer who helped design early flying machines. He was also a friend and advisor to the Wright brothers, who invented the airplane.
