flight log 01: happy new yeaR

Happy New Year!  

From all of us on the flight deck, we hope you are off to a great start in 2025 and we are excited to share with you our favorite accomplishments from 2024 that will keep you informed of our flight path going into the new year:

Here’s a quick rundown of what we got done in 2024:

• We received the Illinois SoundStage Grant in Winter 2024

• Our Workforce Training program graduated over 2 dozen students between Winter and Spring 2024

• Flyover officially launched its first website in Spring 2024

• We had multiple shoots throughout the Spring and Summer, hosting both narrative and documentary projects

• Our 2024 Summer Internships were a huge success, with many outstanding interns joining us on projects

• We purchased new studio support items, including carts, racking, changing rooms, and more

• We purchased company switches for power adaptation for film and live events

• We announced our first standing set: a 10-Row Airplane! It's now available for use

• Abatement in the high bay was completed in Fall 2024

• We hosted school site visits/field trips for Parkland College and Millikin University in Fall 2024

• We gave facility tours to over 25 individuals, including creatives and investors

• We announced our Parkland Partnership, kicking off internships and future career opportunities for Parkland students

• We put up a flexible temperature control wall in late Fall 2024, so we can film even during the cold months

• We released our first newsletters, keeping everyone updated on what’s happening at Flyover each quarter

• We also released Champaign-based film lists via our Q4 Newsletter

Looking ahead to 2025

e've got some exciting destinations planned:

• We've announced new standing sets: an Airplane, a House, a Corporate office build, and a Cafe/Restaurant!

• We're announcing a new Wardrobe Support Space.

• We'll have Phase 2 announcements coming this Spring.

• Our SEC Campaign wraps up in July 2025.

• We have a Rotary Club Event planned for June 2025.
