What kind of locations are needed?Locations of all kinds are needed in the film industry. Until a location team gets a script, they don't know what they need. Having a large pool of available places to pull from ahead of time makes filmmakers jobs easier, so sign up today if you have a location you'd like featured in a project!

How much do productions pay?The rental rate will depend on the project. Some projects have large budgets and expect to pay more the larger their request is. Other projects will have smaller budgets, and location owners will work with location departments to set clear boundaries when budgets are tight.
-
What's the time commitment? The length of time a production rents a location is dependent on how long they'll need to prep the space, how long they can afford to be there, and how long they'll need to film. Filmmakers work twelve hour days, and the below examples give a couple of ideas of film timelines. Example One - Three Days Day 1 - Art department preps the space and the crew walks the space for Day 2 - Filming Day 3 - Art department loads out Example Two - Twelve Days Day 1-4 - Large art department updates and crew walk throughs Day 5-10 - Filming Day 11-12 - Art department loads out and locations clean up. Depending on the budget, some productions will offer to have the space professionally cleaned, especially if it's a home. If the production is renting a home that the owners live in, they'll usually put them up while filmmaking takes place.
-
Will projects change my space?Only if you let them! Some projects will request to have professionals change a space if it's better for filmmaking. That could be painting walls and removing bushes, or just moving all the furniture out of a room to make way for art department furniture. Usually, projects take photos before they move or change anything, and promise reset the space when they've finished, so keep an eye on your rental agreements.
